Signed Deadball Cards

Post by T206Collector on Tue Dec 25, 2007 3:59 am

After I sold off most of my T206 set last April in order to
Purchase Lionel Carter's Eddie Plank, I turned my attention
to signed pre-war cards. This is one of my favorites.
Anyone else have any signed pre-war cards?

very nice. Having owned 3 complete sets of t201s and actively pursing them for most of the 80s, I can't say I've ever seen a signed t201 before.

That is cool having the card signed by both players.

I have to echo the sentiments - that is really neat having both players sign a T201!

WOW - A Max Carey Rookie Autographed! I bet there are several HOF Rookie Collectors who would like to own that one!

Thanks Scott - I got the Carey a couple of years ago, right before the prices on signed deadball cards seemed to skyrocket. I got a heck of a deal considering what the prices on these types of cards are now.

Cant recall seeing another signed T207 - other than Chet Hoff, who lived to be over 100 I believe.

Chris, you are correct - I haven't seen any Autographed T207's other than Hoff and your Carey Rookie (which I only saw first today). Glad you were able to get it at a nice price - it is definitely a truly rare specimen and made even more desireable being a Hall of Famer's Rookie! Great pickup! righton

Jay, I think I have seen more Marquard signed T206's than any other Vintage signed card. At one time, there were around 3-4 floating around for sale.

I would guess there arent too many signed 207s out there simply because they dont really lend themselves well to being a good medium for autographs with the dark colors.

I would love to have a T207 Marquard signed - I know he is the most common signed deadball player to find on a card, but I would really like to corner the market on signed T207 HOFers... 8)

Not an autographed T206 (but I can find a grand if you have one)...Gavvy Cravath of Minneapolis autograph, I'm about 97.87% it's real.
