Prediction for 2008
Thought this would a good topic since the season is about to start. Show off your baseball smarts and predict the season:
AL East - Red Sox
AL Central - Tigers
AL West - Angels ( refuse to call them the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. It's just stupid)
Wild Card - Indians
NL East - Mets
NL Central - Cardinals
NL West - Dodgers
Wild Card - Braves
World Series: Tigers v Braves, Tigers win it in 6

Re: Prediction for 2008
Jay,
Glad to see you pick the Tigers. I've had a soft spot for them since 1984 when my family moved away from Michigan. My brother and I made a pilgrimage to old Tiger Stadium in it's final year. What a trip, what a ballpark.

Re: Prediction for 2008
yay baseball's finally here again. instead of team names i'd give names of the prewar players that were part of those franchises.
AL East: Bill Carrigan
AL Central: Addie Joss...same Indians franchise?
AL West: Edgar Martinez
Wild Card: Bill Donovan
NL East: Tom Seaver
NL Central: Harry Steinfeldt
NL West: Bill Dahlen...homer pick
Wild Card: Ed Delahanty
W.S. Johan over Verlander in game 6...

Apparnetly the batteries in my wireless keyboard were dying and I didn't notice. Problem solved there, but that doesn't mean I am going to spell much better

Re: Prediction for 2008
I predict that by mid-summer the Big Unit will again pass Clemens and take over second place in lifetime Ks permanently. And I predict that Craig Biggio will not take the opportunity to join Cobb, Musial, Speaker and Rose in the 700 lifetime doubles club by hanging around for the 32 which he needs. And I predict that Bobby Abreau, although he missed last year continuing his record setting eight consecutive seasons with 100 or more walks, will continue his assault on this portion of the record book by passing:

Think I might have to go with KC to win it all and pick the Tigers as the most overhyped team of the past century
