Darn, No 1890 US Census!

Ran across this article about an 1890 California census record keeper/ baseball fanatic, who registered every professional and amateur ballplayer "in that part of the State" as a resident of the small town, Petaluma. Thought to be the most comprehensive list of over 300 ballplayers in the area....

http://cdnc.ucr.edu/cgi-bin/cdnc?a=d&d=DAC18900703.2.26&srpos=2&e=--1890---1908--en--20--1--txt-txIN-tomales+baseball-----

Can't imagine where this list is now, but would be interesting.... 1890 US census records were damaged by fire in 1921 & destroyed in 1935.
