week three
Here are the 3rd week stats:
week three
Crazy stat, my ace so far Kevin Brown is 4-0 and has given up 10 HRs and is not among the leaders is run support. Must all be solo shots.

Re: week three
Looks like the Tip Tops can't get a break in the injury department with their pitchers. Maybe that long spring break was too much for them
Re: week three
Hmm. Looks like Yogi Berra choked when placed in the 3-hole. Ed Walsh's ERA is finally below ten. So-so week, but still above .500!

Three changes for the Grays:
1) Confirm Leon Day at 2B hitting 9th with Frisch out.
2) Move Drysdale to mop up.
3) Move Blyleven to the bully and put Fergie Jenkins in his spot in the rotation.

Re: week three
All right. Time to go change the lineup again.
1. 2B - Joe Morgan
2. SS - Cal Ripken
3. LF - Barry Bonds
4. 1B - Johnny Mize
5. CF - Duke Snider
6. C - Yogi Berra
7. RF - Reggie Jackson (vs LHP) / Harry Heilmann (vs RHP)
8. 3B - Frank Baker (vs LHP) / Ron Santo (vs RHP)
9. DH - Eddie Collins
The New York Gothams release CL Doug Jones. The New York Gothams sign CL Kent Tekulve (http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/t/tekulke01.shtml).
Bullpen (starters remain unchanged)
Long relief: Robin Roberts (10% spot starts)
Mop up: Rollie Fingers and Kent Tekulve
Setup: Roberto Hernandez
Closer: Jeff Reardon
Jay, could you confirm that Reardon is closer? I see Roberto Hernandez has two blown saves in the past week, but Jeff Reardon didn't get any save opportunities.

Re: week three
Les Expos are coming in with a couple transactions. We are going to release SP Tim Keefe and LF Albert Belle. Replacing them will be SP Jimmy Key and RF Dave Parker.
Jimmy Key will be the long reliever/spot starter, and Dave Parker will platoon with Vladimir Guerrero. Parker will face the righties, Guerrero the LHP's.

Please swap Phil Niekro (move to long relief) & insert Wilbur Wood into the starting rotation. Keep my fingers crossed that Ruth hits better than .250 (ouch)!

Re: week three
can't decide on a batting order, but that should help our horrendous l/r splits. offense isn't really the problem tho in this league, but you don't wanna bring a bb gun to a big boy duel.
hank aaron is undoing all the good work by musial and mantle.

Re: week three
The KC As, whoops, the CNY Stars sign Keefe and Belle. To make room in the roster, Rube Waddell and Gary Carter are released, and the Stars wish them well. In addition Randy Myers is released (11 hits from 19 batters, what I am doing wrong with him? maybe you guys can repair him). Sign Smoky Burgess.
Stars plan to make lineup/settings changes later tonight, but for now, Keefe will do what Waddell was doing, except hopefully better as a righty sp. Belle goes to lf in place of Manush. Manush will sit until I figure that out. Burgess will platoon with Bench. If he makes too many errors, that will have to change. Jay, is there a pinch hitter setting?
I am surprised that cf (forgotten pirate great) Carey and rf Ott are struggling at bat, they are just killing rallies.

I believe we can, and have done so in the past. However, given that before we were simming a quarter of the season at a time, we really didn't do this many adjustments.
Personally, I love it. Jay, however, may be having to put a block of ice on that 486SX.

Heck, as long as Waddell is free, Les Expos are going to drop Jimmy Key and grab Waddell. Why not?

Re: week three
Let's not get too crazy with the add/drops. Just like real life, players are going to have slumps. Also, you are making batting changes, you don't need to list the whole order, just whoever you are making the changes with. Saves me a lot of writing since I don't have two monitors.

Re: week three
If we are going to be making weekly changes to batting line ups then I am going to have put an end to percentages and only allow righty/lefty platoons. Percentage played is pointless 7 games at a time.

Jay, Should I redo my lineup by these parameters?

Re: week three
yes, please do. Running players by percentage of playing time takes a lot time for me to enter. I don't mind doing it if it is going to be for the rest of the season, but having to do it week by week, even it is only one team doing it each week, is more work than I want to do or have time for.
