I like the E253 Ruth card. Terrific pose and could be affordable.
The Vezina card sure is sharp and it'll be interesting to see what the "King of Hockey Cards" goes for.

oh, now that i look at the lot i know who the seller is. i was offered a few cards...some were downright reasonable while others were high. guess he was just pricing them off the lot price. bill musta got in his ears so he consigned with bill. why would rob say that e97 keeler is trimmed? if anything it looks a lil BIGGER than a normal e97 (that's a 1-1.5k swing)

i guess that right side looks kinda sharp on that keeler...it scared me a little bit...paired with the other trimmed cards in the lot! in retrospect...what a great deal! REA is still one of the only places where larger, valuable raw lots are prevalent and can be had for a deal?!

You know what I really like is that Keeler cabinet in Goodwin. Awesome looking card. Can't believe it hasn't gotten a bid yet.

That's because it's not a legit cabinet, Jamie.
It was cut from a larger piece.
There's a thread by Dan McKee outing it across the street.
I was interested until Dan's reveal.

Still a great photograph, though. If I collected that era, I might be interested. Since it's already got the A grade, I think that whether it is cut out from a larger piece would matter less anyways, but clearly people are avoiding it. Terrific photograph.

I agree it's a wonderful image of Keeler... but personally... I'm also turned off that it is cut from a larger piece.
Chris...is that your wagner???

No, Pete. It took me years to acquire it (as some board members are aware). It was a saga, and it's staying for a long time.
The Goodwin Wagner suffers from the same 'problem' as mine, color added. So I'll be interested how it plays out.
Both the person who sold me it last month and myself sort-of rolled our eyes when we saw another one turn up so soon. We had a long, but back and forth negotiation over it, so now we both get to see what the market is on this card.
If I had not acquired mine last month, I most likely would have thrown a crazy number at the card just to end the suffering on my end. I hope the consignor does well, obviously.

Ok. I'll be *that* guy.
After two days of bidding it has already exceeded my purchase price (with BP that is).
Start throwing rotten vegetables.

Hmm. I'm so confused now. Is this also the Goodwin thread now?
Anyway. The Cobb is over $10k before the BP now. It could turn into an episode of Whale Wars.
Unfortunately, there is nothing for me in Goodwin, but another house has something for me ... but there's high early interest in something I really thought would be missed. Woe is me! Woe is me!
This is a hijack, of a hijack, of a hijack at this point. Crazy thread.

It looks like the Cobb is going to break 20k the way the bidding has gone on it so far. Will be interesting to see if the prices that Cobb and Ruth M101-6's have been getting will carry over to the rest of the set.
Re: The murphy's law of collecting...or...M101-6 discussion!
Well, a really rough M101-6 Ruth sold for 10k+ on eBay over the weekend.
This card is really strong right now. I picked up my first M101-6 last month and love the look of them.
Anyone want to talk M101-6 a little?
Paging the other Chris! Paging the other Chris!

It wasn't that rough?!?!?! Makes me feel a little better about mine...although I can't remember what I paid for mine?!?!?! Not sure what else we can say about m101-6...besides that they are tough...and really cool!

There's an M101-6 Ruth in Goodwin. It'll be interesting to see how it finishes.

It's the #1 card in the set. Not quite as condition sensitive as the 1933 Goudey Bengough, but it's tough in top grades.
