What I find strange and cool at the same time is that there isn't a single card that makes an appearance on every single list.
What a great hobby.

Re: 10 cards money no object
i have some that mirrors others. i struggled for the last few.
my 9 plus a dh:
t206 plank
t206 wagner
t210 jackson
e107 matty
just so young
w600 cobb
boston garter walter johnson
peck & snyder cinci (1st pro team?)
n167 buck ewing
e107 wagner n173 delahanty
i would feel satisfied and content with these 10 as my collection
(duhhh). was a tossup between e107 wagner and delahanty, but in the end chose the rc.
edit: i saw jamie's list and remembered the n173...need a dela in my starting lineup somewhere!

Re: 10 cards money no object
I'll take the E107 Wagner if Q doesn't want it.
If money were no object and the cards were theoretically available to purchase, I'd choose:
E107 Wagner
E107 Matty
W600 Cobb
M101-5 Ruth
1914 Boston Garter Johnson (maybe JK & A Johnson instead once I'd see one)
E107 Lajoie
Just So Young
1914 Boston Garter Speaker
Anson in Uniform
Peck & Snyder (large) Red Stockings

What can you gents tell me about this card? A quick search yielded an image of 10K leaning against some bannister sort of thing. I can't say I know anything about this card. Given the dissertations continually written about the T206 Wagner, Plank, etc I was kind of surprised that there wasn't much out there about this card.

Re: 10 cards money no object
Incredibly rare card with a great picture. Owning any 4BH is a coup. Owning the Kelley is a whole other story. It's the card in the set and as you can see one of the most coveted 19c cards.
Here is a link to the Baseball Card HOF. Pretty much every card that is in this thread is in there. The ones that are not are probably good candidates for induction.

Re: 10 cards money no object
Now you guys are just showing off. My top ten in '83, anything that cost a penny at the used book store. Maybe those Topps Football Dickerson, Marino, Elway Rookies.... or was that '84?

Re: 10 cards money no object
I wasn't quite as sophisticated as Jay back in 83'...I was only 14 for crying out loud!!!!!! And I remember scoffing at $7 for a seaver rookie and $25 for an aaron rookie...where the hell would I get that kind of $$$$$$?!?!?!?!

Re: 10 cards money no object
Yeah, $25 or even $7... that's a lot of strawberries/raspberries to pick at my summer job. Not sure what path my life would have taken if I had unlimited resources at 11.

Re: 10 cards money no object
Back in 1982 I had to think about paying $7 a piece for t205 commons that came straight from packs and paid $200 for a complete set of t201s in Ex+ condition. Just crazy prices back then, lol.
