I don't know if this qualifies as a superstition or just an attitude.
But I read a story by Nap Rucker when he was sharing a room with Ty Cobb in the minors. Seems Cobb was always first to take a bath in the evening. One day Nap came home early and decided to take a bath.
Cobb returning and seeing Nap in the Tub set him off, After a ruckus he told Nap, you don't understand, I have to be first.
