Not a very colorful bunch, Brian. nahnahnah

Pittsbugh made a great choice when they decided to change from that hat.

Other than that great bunch of cards, Brian.

It is really neat to see the diversity of cards that have showed up.

True. How sick is your collection when a J=K Wagner doesn't even make your top 10?

I'd love to scans of all those cards. Ben, I don't think 1969 is F Robby's rookie year Wink

Back off John! Those 1969 Frank's are off limits!!

You gents can see the Washington Times Cobb at the SGC Set registry on their website

I can dig some of the others out for scans

I may have sent my GQ Ewing to SGC with my last submission but can't remember

I will check and thanks for the kind words

You are correct, I should have listed my J=K Wagner, that is also acting as my T206 Wagner for my set as I doubt I will ever own 1 of those.

You've got a good start. Many of have been collecting for 10+ years. Unless you've got a huge sum of money to throw at cards, you don't build a collection over night like many that you see here.

Post by ValKehl on Mon Jul 11, 2011 11:28 pm

Ben, when you say "best" cards, I assume you mean most favorite, as opposed to most valuable. After a few days of trying to decide my 10 most favorite, I gave up - I guess I'm too indecisive! Then, I tried to do this with my WaJos, but gave up as well. So, I decided to show 10 of my Johnsons, but each with a different pose (note: I didn't scan the 2 blank backs).

Brian & Scott - Many thanks for the kind words! The Texas Tommy is also special to me because I acquired it (and some of my other WaJos) from Hank Thomas, WaJo's grandson, who is one heck of a nice guy, several years ago when he decided to dispose of his WaJo card collection.

BTW, the W551-Wool's Bread strip card, which may be the least valuable of the 10 WaJos I showed, has long intrigued me. I bought it at a local card show roughly 20 years ago, before these cards were listed in the Standard Catalog. I wonder where the Wool/Wool's bakery was located. I have never seen in person another Wool's card of any player.
