Thanks for the kind words. I "think" that I can make a contribution to some good t206 talk. (At least I hope too!)

Re: Hi All
Given that you've written a book on the topic I'm guessing you'll be a valuable contributor. Thanks
Re: Hi All
Welcome, Tom! I just dove into The Monster three months ago, so I may pick your brain extensively. It's an endlessly fascinating set. I'm convinced, from what I've read about it so far, that it's next to impossible to ever learn everything about it. For instance, I just snagged my first overprint the other night. I also just realized last night that in "Hooks Wiltse, Portrait With Cap," the picture was poorly cropped together and he has two different sweaters on! You just don't get stuff like that in other sets.
At any rate, again: Welcome. Look forward to seeing some samples of your collection.

Re: Hi All
We had a lot of fun researching the players, and speaking with relatives. There are endless possibilities to collecting the set. My whole philosophy has been to find a card that meets your standards (mine by the way are very similar to most people's....A good Chevy in lieu of a Mercedes), and build from there. I have slowly accumulated my collection over about 20 years. Nothing elaborate, but very enjoyable. My goal is the entire set with a little luck on finding a Wagner and Plank that we (investment partners on these two particular cards) can afford!
I guess my one piece of advice is to collect for the love of the hobby. The investment is great, but should be secondary. Best, Tom
