Who is this Lionel Carter fellow?
I grabbed a few T206's on ebay today, and I noticed one of them was labeled "The Lionel Carter Collection." I didn't win the card; somebody beat my bid. There's one other Carter T206 on ebay at the moment, an SGC50 for Jim Scott. Actually, it's a really nice looking card. If it had an unusual back, I'd grab it. But I digress...
I found an article online about this Lionel Carter, and it indicated that he sold off a large and notable collection through Mastro in 2007. He even had a Plank, possibly the single most beat-up looking baseball card I've ever seen officially graded (not that I wouldn't be happy to have it).
At any rate, to my point: Does anybody know if these "Carter Collection" T206's are particularly coveted? Or have any info or personal knowledge of this gentleman? Sounds like an interesting character.

That IS a great article. I particularly love the 2008 pic of him in full calvary uniform. And those binders with the T205's and T206's in them...holy crap. It's like the Mecca of baseball card collecting.
