Coolest pose on a 19th century card?
What do you think the coolest pose is on a 19th century card? There are so many to choose from, but to me, this N690 Kalamazoo Bats pose of Lyons with trainer takes the cake:
(unfortunately this example is trimmed - and doesn't belong to me)

My personal favorite. AS slow paced as Yankees and Red Sox games are, I'm surprised we don't see more players like this on the field.

What is cooler than having your bat just stand alongside of you until you are ready for it?

How about a N173 Dogs Head Ewing with Mascot?

Oh yeah! See, that's adorable! We should go back to the days where we used real human beings as mascots. The first modern day owner to do that will be really successful, I think. Maybe that Prokhorov guy can bring back Dr. J and have him be the mascot for the Nets. Do you think Dr. J would agree to that?

Have you seen the N172 Williamson with mascot? It's a far tougher card than the Ewing and also very unique looking. Anyone have a scan?

Anyone have a scan of the New York(?) manager Mutrie in a trench coat and top hat?

I once owned a trimmed example of that card. Don't have a scan handy unfortunately. Here's the image at least:

sorry guys not alot of 19th cent knowledge, but my "card to be bury with" is an n173 delahanty batting pose. it's generic and boring but it's my favorite batter holding his instrument of destruction so that's my coolest pose.

The batting pose is great, I agree. And, this is shameless, but I also love the praying pose. I got the card delivered early last week, and it just knocked me out. It's like it has some sort of religious significance. The card is now sadly and safely tucked away in the safe deposit box, but as I travelled, I would just pull up the scan and stare at it for minutes at a time on my iPhone. Must say I am pretty knocked out, and I want to thank everyone on this board for their guidance.
