2010 March Madness pick 'em

let's get ready to rumble! if i fall behind the pack quickly today, that's just my strategy so the comeback will be much sweeter

ugh wrong side of the coinflip, lost a couple games by 1 pt. each....if i don't have luck on my side i'm in trouble!

joann just comes back here once a year and start crushing again. todd is proving himself to be a beast in all form of team competition...paid or not. hopefully i've sufficiently jinxed them so somebody else will have a chance.

I just got home to learn that my pick to win it all lost to N. Iowa. Much to my surprise, instead of being in last or at least having the fewest possible points, I am leading and have the most possible points. Did everyone pick Kansas?

Ugh. I haven't even looked yet. I had KS to win it all in every bracket. We'll see.

I had Kansas beating Villanova for the championship. Can you say toast? I can, and will not look at the rubbish that is my bracket.

I had Kansas, I can't think there are many brackets that look worth anything after today.

I'm far from an expert at college bb, but I at least try to halfway think about my picks. Where I don't know, I sort of guess but at least mentally engage in that pick if only for a few seconds. The one thing that I never even thought of - never dwelt on for even a moment - was the Kansas would win the whole thing. Yeesh.

In other brackets where you are allowed to enter more than one (and pay the extra entry fee), I always enter one bracket in which the highest seed wins every game. That bracket does fairly well in years where there are a lot of early upsets, for some reason. So I'm watching it in my work pool right now, waiting for it to make it's big late comeback!

Because this bracket? She is dead.

ETA: Just checked and yep - I'm making a beeline for the bottom. Georgetown, Louisville, Nova and Kansas must have conspired to sink my bracket.

As bad as the Kansas upset busted up brackets, it pretty much killed everyone's bracket because it seems everyone thought they were a lock to win. Along with some other big upsets, it seems about 95% of all brackets busted so everyone is back in the hunt again. Look at our pool. Everyone picked Kansas, so it really wasn't that big of a deal. It's the other upsets that have taken people out.

To me, this feels like one of the worst brackets I've had in ages, yet I'm doing well in the pools I am in.

Yep. Got this thing right where I want it. I'm playing 'possum so that my late charge to the top will take everyone by surprise.

Right now, it's me and quan with the deciding game UK v WV. Then we'll see who the contenders are after that.

kentucky has 5 potential 1st rounders playing, they are definitely the favorite. also it wouldn't be right for someone who's filled out his first ever bracket to come in 1st...fullcount deserves a better representative!

I have to say, this has been a strange result for everyone this year. I have no teams left in the Midwest or West brackets, but I have all 4 teams in the East and South. If Kentucky and Duke win I am sitting pretty. Looks like our defending champ is going to pull of a first to worst.

The Kentucky loss sure has opened up everything. The top 3 guys have UWV going to the finals and their other picks for the Final Four didn't make it. Duke is my only hope left for the Final Four and the person just behind me has Duke going to the finals so it looks like I'm done for unless Duke gets to the Final Four and then loses and the UWV doesn't make the finals.

i can't win..."james" who's ahead of my has my exact pick left...wv to the final.

it all comes down to the UWV/Duke game. If Duke wins, Mark wins. If UWV wins, then the ATG champ James also win the NCAA bracket title this year.

Yeah!!! I need Duke to win!!! and from the way Duke is playing it looks like i will be the champ!!!
