The Rookie Card That Should've Been

Post by LucasRiley on Fri Mar 05, 2010 12:01 pm

Pardon my crude photoshopping, it was just for a lark. The poor guy drew a walk then didn't get a chance to run. The least they could've done is give him a card!

Larry Fritsch included him in one of his sets, I believe.

This is not photoshopped.

I love that card, would love to have a copy. I particularly like that you tried to catch him just before he went to bat, during his one true moment as a Major Leaguer.

It is, however, hard to resist the politically incorrect inclination to wish that he had worked for RCA/Victor rather than Mercury, since he could've then been referred to as a 'height-appropriate' replacement for the dalmatian.
