At least with the lacrosse cards (which I collect) you know you're getting an authentic card. Its a niche market and it wouldn't be worth the effort of counterfeiting them.

I love the the reprints which have been creased, wadded up, corners cut off, etc. "Don't know if it is real, but it looks really old!"
