My Top 25

Post by fisherboy7 on Wed Jul 15, 2009 4:05 am

I had some spare time last night and decided to create a "Top 25" album on my imageevent site. Ranking my favorite 25 cards in my collection was alot trickier than I thought it would be, but it was fun too. I encourage others to give it a shot. I'll keep updating mine as my collection evolves.

Here's the link, questions/comments always welcome: http://imageevent.com/fisherboy7/thetop25

Thanks Brian, that Voskamps has a story behind it, it was one of 5 cards that was recovered from when my collection was stolen in Feb of '05. The others were less significant - a OJ common, 56T mantle, 55T williams, and a 53T Paige. But I'll take it anyway.

Sorry to hear that you had your collection stolen. I wasn't aware of that ... (only been collecting vintage less than 12 months).
I'm glad to hear that you at least got 5 of the cards back. It is probably a sore subject so I won't probe further about what you didn't get back.

Anyway, I would be interested in getting that one from you - all legal like, if you ever decide to part with it.

Thanks Brian. I try not to bring up the subject very often, as it is still fairly sore even after 4 years (and many here probably remember it well already, as it was aired publicly in this thread just minutes after I discovered what happened). But I think it's important to mention it from time to time to keep awareness up just incase something shows up again in the future. I know a bunch of my old collecting buddies are still keeping an eye out for me, which I'm very thankful for. I've kept my old geocities website up with scans of all my old cards, which was extremely useful to the detective when the first 5 cards were recovered.

Anyways, enough about that for now. Anyone else got a top 25? I'll PM you about the Voskamps Brian righton

I've looked over your collection on the geocities website, and am also keeping my eyes open for you. And as always, I too am sorry about your loss (4 years later).

Anyway, regarding the original topic of this thread, that's a pretty cool idea. Though, mine will be kind of boring since 95% of my collection is T206's and T216's, but I may do it anyway.

And Ben, sweet collection. I've noticed you've been trading quite a bit this summer.

Likewise, my top 25 would be pretty boring since I've abandoned the player set and my colelction is now pretty much limited to t205s, Delongs and Diamond Stars.

Ditto here. Mine would largely be made up of E107s since that comprises the majority of my collection now. I could throw in a couple Goudeys, but that is about it.

I'm in the process of restructuring. I've decided to do a 25 card collection. I've sold off a majority of my T206 backs collection and will be concentrating on this set. Once I get a few off my want list, I will post a link of what I have. Right now I only have 7 cards in the collection (5 of which are T206s), and actually just picked up the 8th. I will post that addition in the September pickup thread when it arrives.

Does that mean no more Kotton or Mino T216s, Eric?

OK, I lied. In addition to working on my T216 set, I will be working on a 25 card collection. I'm getting rid of everything else though.

OK, I lied again. I have a separate side Shag Shaughnessy subset with all 3 backs, of which I have completed, but I need an upgrade to my PSA 1 Hindu backed Shag.

But that's it bananarama.......................................for now!
