NOVEMBER 2009 Pickup Thread

Post  crazylocomerk on Sun Nov 01, 2009 3:45 pm

Can you believe it's already November? This year has flown by.

With that said, here's one of my new additions:

T211 Red Sun (courtesy of B&L Auctions)

I regretted getting rid of my first one (SGC 10 Nolley). These really don't come around all that often, and when they do, so many are looking for them, that prices have really taken off in the past year. I probably overpaid a little bit, but I wanted it.

And here is the Nolley that I once owned. I DON'T OWN IT ANYMORE. Just showing it for reference.

Now if you could find the rat or moth to cough up the rest you would really have something there.

Had to be a nice affordable Wagner and the image is still in great shape.

I'm not sure what a good price for that is, but it came in a lot with 3 others and the per card price was just under $45. Being a 1914 with the face intact, I couldn't resist.

In that case, I'd say you did extremely well.

When I showed it to my wife, she was like "Is that all that's left to collect?" and "Geez, what a schnozz!". At least the little rodent or vermin left the nose. Reminds me of a scene in the movie "Fatso" where Ann Bancroft, noticing that Dom Deloise (playing her brother) ate part of the cake he was sent to deliver--the part with the name "Tony", screams "YOU ATE THE ONY!"

Picked up a back that I've wanted for a long time. Too bad it was after I already dismantled my T206 backs line. A Red Hindu was one of the few (3) that I needed. I have the Levy's to thank for this one!

One of the most under-rated players (in terms of present card values) of the era, in my opinion:

My winnings from B&L Auction plus recent Ebay arrived today. First up, a T207 Speaker I've been wanting for years:
