Very cool tin top Todd. Never seen that pose of Marquard before. Am I correct in assuming that it's unique to the Tin Top set, and not part of E254 or E270 Red Border?

Nice pick up Todd...I was watching this. Did the tin it came with the kind these probably came in?

thanks guys
Ben, as far as I know, it's the only Colgan Marquard. I believe the e254 was listed in price guides for years and later determined not to exist. I have not seen a red-bordered e270 Marquard, and this is the first tin top of him I have seen. Maybe Rhett or other die-hard collectors of these sets can chime in--I'm a more casual collector of them.
Sean, it is the correct tin for the issue--a Violet Autosales Gum & Chocaolate Co. It arrived in the tin with the spacer or whatever you call that other piece of paper. I had a devil of a time getting the card out--had to keep thumping the bottom of the tin to get it to move, as it was in there pretty snug.

Re: May 2009 pick up thread
My two latest pickups (pickups are coming few and far between, but that's OK).
Another T216 to add to my collection, which brings my total to 25 different. George Gibson, Pittsburgh Nat'L-Front with a Kotton Type 2 back.

And this PSA 5 Shag. Probably overpaid for this one, but I don't care. It's the best centered Shaughnessy I have ever seen. I'm very happy to finally add a Piedmont 350 back:

Re: May 2009 pick up thread
Won these tonight in Huggins & Scott. Now I'm three short of the baseball players set. I need Cobb, Ruffing and Collins if anyone wants to sell/trade.
The cancelled backs on these make them that much more interesting IMO, especially given the fact I did not pay more for it (in my opinion).
