Blair,
First, nice pickups. I especially like the Red Cross.
Second, nice new scanner. Those images are more clear than when I am actually holding a card in my hand! Sweet.
Thanks,
AndyH

Hi Andy,
Thanks very much!
The scanner seems to be working out real well - it is a Canon 8800F flatbed scanner. I had been drooling over some card scans I saw on Net54, and found out this was the scanner being used, so...what the heck
Cheers,
Blair

And also congrats to you on your Red Cross pickup! These are super-tough cards - must have been a lucky month for both of us!!!
Cheers,

Re: June 2009 Pick Up Thread
To go along with the 1914 Crackerjacks I've recently jumped into are a couple nice companion pieces of vintage Crackerjack stands.
The photo's cool but the postcard below it showing a mobile Crackerjack cart on wheels with a large stack of Crackerjacks displayed on top is my favorite. When looking at the photo you almost get this feel your outside of an old ballpark and this kid is selling Crackerjacks to attendee's as they pay admission to go inside to watch the game.

Blair- You have been on one serious roll lately. Nice pick ups (all of them). My favorite maybe the Colgan Gardner. It may just lead me to collecting Colgan's. Here is my M-101-4 Janvrin to compare to your M-101-5. And I really wish PSA could figure out how to correctly encapsule the cards in the holder!

Thanks for the comments, Michael! I managed to get to a nice card show in WA, where I got a bunch of that stuff, including the Colgan's.
That Janvrin pose is pretty cool - I like the "action" of it. I know what you mean about some of those PSA slabs...
Cheers,

something about a red cobb portrait...so pure, a classic.
(also picked up a cobb 2 bat off that i would trade for a bat on...and a matty portrait 30 that i would trade for a johnson pitching/young glove shows!)

Hi Dan,
Pretty blurry under magnification but from what I can tell the posters on the walls look to be of women?? Actually the scanned pictures attached look clearer than when viewing through a loop. I didn't really catch those the first time around, good eye. Would be interesting to know what they are indeed.

I too picked up a Red Cross this month via trade. I'll post pics when I get a chance. Wow!!! 3 board member RC additions.
