July 2009 Pick Up Thread

Post  lamontcarter on Mon Jun 29, 2009 7:33 pm

I apologize for starting a day early, hope no one minds. A few additions to my T206 set. I believe this puts me at 40 more to go minus the Big 6 with only one common left, the elusive Bill Malarkey!

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer!

Best,

Scott

geez, I'd be happy if that was my only pickup of the year. Very nice.

Folks,

I know everyone has heard this too much, but this is one card that was seriously undergraded. I'm fortunate, because I bought this as a EX (5) card. But if I had sent this in, I'd be shaking my head. Back in the early 90s when I collected a lot, the only question on this card would be whether the dealer called it Mint or Nr.Mt-Mt...clearly, this PSA grader-kid was suffering from acute refractor blindness...

Cheers,
Blair

Hi Ben,

Love that card! I have one that is raw, in technically about G condition, but because of one heavy crease that goes through the red above Cy's head...still a very attractive card.

Cheers,
Blair

The highlight on my end was this beauty. Thanks Ben.
It was a wonderful trading experience. Bunny points for both of us.

Blair, the lower left corner looks like hamburger. Or maybe that's left overs from the Cheeto munching grader drool

Hey Jay,

When you look at this card, the other 3 corners are razor/pinpoint sharp. The lower left is the only one that isn't perfect (but it still appears to come to a nice point). I own a lot of worse "7s" and a couple worse "8s" from both PSA and SGC.

Good thing the grader wasn't drinking his morning... coffee or having a buttery snack... popcorn

Cheers,
Blair

I was just kidding about the hamburger comment. That is a sweet CJ in any case. Would seem to be a perfect candidate for resub unless there is a hidden micro crease you aren't seening. SGC is great at finding those.
