N173 Oliver Tebeau....

Post  Square_Frame_Ramly on Thu May 21, 2009 12:25 pm

I want to congratulate a friend of mine who acquired a raw N173 Cabinet of Oliver Tebeau. I had it graded by SGC for him and it recieved a SGC 80!!!

Spectacular for a 120 year old card....the image is clear as day. From what i know, this card was kept in a book between pages for many, many years and was discovered at a tag sale (not by my friend).

I believe it will be in an up-coming auction.

That is a great looking card.. is that a previously unknown N173 or simply a great find?

The Tebeau, Chicago, fielding ground N173 has been listed in the SCBC for at least four editions. What a fortuitous find, though.

Just joined the FCVBCF this morning and am enjoying looking through old posts (as well as seeing familiar names). I was happy to add this N173 Tebeau to the collection and am glad your friend offered it...its a great looking card.

Glad you both are happy. I have actually seen your new N173 in person and its just amazing how nice it looks after so many years. From what i hear, it was found in a book. So it would explain how it could have survived all those years.
