Art Question
This may sound out of place and i dont know if anyone can help but:
My fiance and i make silkscreen posters. What we want to do is make some posters of some of the more well known t206 cards. Does anyone know if there are any copyright issues or who owns the rights to the images on the cards.
Any help would be much appreciated. we have a myspace set up if yer curious www.myspace.com/flyersquad
we usually do punk rock band posters etc., but I am such a nerd that i think making baseball card posters would be pretty awesome.
thanx!
Josh

Re: Art Question
It would be tuff to beat this for "top" t206 subject matter.

Re: Art Question
Hi Josh, welcome to the forum. Sounds like a nice idea to me. You won't encounter any copyright issues. T206's have been reproduced countless times in many different ways. Were you planning on doing an artistic rendition of the cards, or just a copy from a scan? I checked out your website and you have talent, I look forward to seeing what you come up with
Also you might want to check out Trae's t206.org website, as he's done a number of t206 related projects.

Re: Art Question
Sounds like an interesting venture, Josh. Is the finance pushing for a shirt with all the pink backgrounds?

Re: Art Question
Hey,
im not totally sure what we are going to do yet. I think just doing some nice prints of the cards without any artitisc flair would be pretty nice, although "warhol-ing" them up a bit may provide something different and cool.
all about the pink backgrounds lol.
Thanx for the help!
