thanks, mine too! that line also reminds me of how I used to collect cards of modern day stars until I realized just how much more interesting the dead players were.

Hey Jeff
We had a blast in San Diego.
It's changed quite a bit from when my ship was stationed their in the 60's
It use to be a real Navy town.

Re: Picture and brief summary...
I thought I'd jump in on this thread.
My name is Turner and I am from Columbus, Ohio. I got into vintage after my father and I bought a near set of ratty T205's at a local show. To this day, we are still upgrading; trying to get all the cards in SGC 50 and 60 holders. I've done a bit of everything (T201, T206, T210, T215, etc.) and always have fun with it in the process.
Here is a picture of myself at the Chicago National on dealer set-up day:

Who is Gil?
Hi, I am a 63 year old guy. I will get a picture of my family as soon as I can.
Instrument technician,
Two grown, well adjusted daughters; now out on their own.
I collect items relating to aspects of US History. This includes WWII, the US Mint and MLB.
Regarding MLB, I collect cards only. I select those from the following historical perspective:
I attempt to obtain cards that represent occurances to me which depict baseball highlights for each year.
Further definition and detail on this will be provided seperately. In a location specified by Ben.

Re: Picture and brief summary...
Since I am always the one taking the pictures in our house, it is tough to find one with me in it. This is about the only one I could find and is a picture of me with my first effort on making a stained glass window. (It is in a church up in Tennessee).
As for me, my moniker is my last name, but I don't expect anyone to be able to pronounce it. (Hint: the J is pronounced as a Y). I am 36, have been married for a little under 12 years, have a 5 year old daughter, and am a forensic structural engineer by trade. My foray into vintage card collecting started in the late summer/ early fall of '08 with the HOF RC chase, but I shifted gears once I realized what you all know about trying to find "the rookie card" of the old timers. Since that time I have been focusing mostly on collecting E107s and '33 Goudey HOFers in EX/MT condition or better. The Goudey chase has taken a far back seat to the E107 quest of late, though. I will be going to my first National show in '09 as a card-carrying vintage collector. I made it to one once before ... many, many moons ago, but that was when I still sought the shiny stuff.

Thanks to all those who make this forum possible!

Re: Picture and brief summary...
Well, let's see...I'm a lifetime Red Sox fan and my main vintage card collection reflects that. Besides baseball and baseball cards, my main hobbies are wine tasting and collecting, and guitar playing and collecting. (Everything eventually becomes a collection with me
).
Here's a photo of me with my better half at a monumental wine tasting event in Seattle:
